Knox

Meet Knox! Knox and his two brothers quite literally showed up on their foster’s doorstep during a rainstorm — all three curled up asleep together on the front doormat. Of the three, Knox was the most nervous and unsure of people, but he has completely blossomed in foster care and is now his foster’s little shadow.
Knox can be tentative when meeting someone new, but once he realizes he’s safe, the sweetest and goofiest little personality comes out. He’s affectionate, loves being near his people, and has quickly learned how wonderful it is to be part of a family.
At about 5 months old, Knox is already house trained and crate trained and has been an exceptionally easy puppy. He’s looking for a family who will give him a little time to warm up and, in return, get the most loyal and lovable little shadow.
Mimi

Mabel

Meet Mabel! She is one of the most loving, snuggly, and sweet dogs we’ve had the privilege of fostering. Until she was rescued, Mabel lived a hard life. While her prior home may have loved her, she didn’t receive the quality care she needed.
Unfortunately, Mabel had untreated diabetes which eventually caused her to lose her vision. She was also severely malnourished. A couple of months ago, she was brought into the Charlotte shelter as a euthanasia request — but thankfully our rescue partner got her in the final hour so she could have a second chance at life.
While she does have diabetes and vision loss, this doesn’t impact her quality of life. The way she navigates a home and yard is so impressive that it’s easy to forget she is blind. She takes her insulin shot twice a day without putting up a fuss — it takes about 10 seconds and is simpler than many people expect. She’s one tough cookie and an inspirational little lady, relentless and full of life despite all she’s been through.
A Little About Mabel
- About 10 years old
- Likely a Shih Tzu or Pekingese mix
- Around 8–10 pounds (she was skin and bones but has been eating well and gaining weight like a champ)
- Crate trained
- 10/10 snuggler
- Enjoys adventures out — Lowe’s, dinner on a patio, car rides, and more. Anywhere with her human makes her a happy girl
- Dog and cat friendly
- Not tested with children, though she is very sweet and tolerant
- Mostly potty trained, but has a tiny bladder and needs to be let out frequently. A doggy diaper works well when that’s not possible
- A true Velcro dog — she just wants to be close to her person, whether on your lap or beside you on the couch
- Doesn’t need much exercise — a brief stroll around the yard is enough
Mabel is the ideal companion for someone looking for a best buddy and a loyal little shadow.
